Antichrisis are back with a smashing new album! Seems that somehow on their way this effervescent creative pack has come across the big G.R.O.O.V.E, because suddenly their songs are not just sparkling and genuine pop tunes (like on their last brilliant release "A Legacy of Love"), but now one can also dance and move while listening to these magnificent melodies!

"Perfume" opens with "Hole in my Head", a groovy monster with a haunting bass-line and a heavy guitar riff that'll send shivers down your spine, whereas follow-up track "Carry me down" combines a shamanic chorus (performed brilliantly by outstanding new vocalist Dragonfly), powerful dance-beats and inexorably striking guitars! And as if all that wasn't enough, "We are the Witches" suddenly comes creeping out of your speakers like a psychedelic cross-breed of Black Sabbath, Type O Negative and Jethro Tull with some beguiling witches' chants...

Almost overwhelmed by the sparkling beauty of those perfect pop-anthems "Wasteland" (one of Dragonfly's master-pieces again) and "Like the Stars" (with a refrain that'll make your eyes water just because of its sheer allurement), Antichrisis take us to a trip on the electronic side with "Gates of Paradise" and the nightmarish "Something Inside", an itinerant traveller's tale of fatigue and forlornness. Then we're allowed a few minute's rest in the smooth comfort of the day-dreaming chill-out symphony "Dragonflies", before its summery and dazzling atmosphere gets distorted by the penetrating and punching bass-intro of "Goodbye to Jane", a track that we're already familiar with since Antichrisis' gloomy debut in 1997, but that turns up this time in its ultimate and most moving manifestation. Finally, "Perfume" closes with an energetic driving cover version of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love", taking the old downtrodden bastard right into the new millenium with a vocal performance by Dragonfly that would even make Robert Plant blush like a seized schoolboy: Almost 8 minutes of hard-rockin' powerplay accompanied by Naex' deadly grooving uilleann pipes, prooving once more why he deserves to be called the "Prince of Pipes"!

It's hard not to be stirred up by Antichrisis' new stunning output: This is as close to perfection as a genuine pop-album can get, and if there's still any justice left in this world, then Sid and his gang should soon see themselves amongst such icons as Massive Attack, Radiohead or Depeche Mode: Their inventiveness, excellence and attitude would qualify them at once!
